Current Openings
As a Survey Mapper you will plan, organize, prepare, and lead the processing of survey and mapping-related documents with local governmental agencies. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of subdivision mapping, including final and parcel maps, records of survey, legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, corner records, boundary adjustments, and writing legal descriptions.
- Plan, organize, and prepare survey and mapping documents for submission to local governmental agencies.
- Lead the processing of survey data, including receiving, organizing, documenting, and exporting conventional and GPS field survey data.
- Demonstrate knowledge of engineering and land survey principles and practices relevant to design, geodetic surveying, planning, construction, right-of-way engineering, land acquisitions, land division, and boundary location.
- Review deeds, easements, title reports, encumbrances, and perform traverses for closures, adjustment of traverses, and calculation of field notes.
- Draft various land surveying documents and exhibits using Autodesk Civil 3D software as directed.
- Organize, prioritize, and prepare complex surveying documents.
- Perform moderately complex surveying mathematics and calculations.
- Conduct research for land surveying deliverables.
- Prepare corrections for submitted maps, plans, and legal descriptions.
- Provide survey information to clients as needed regarding projects.
- Read and interpret legal descriptions.
- Write descriptions of property boundary surveys for use in deeds, leases, or other legal documents.
- Direct or conduct surveys to establish legal boundaries for properties, based on field evidence, deeds, and titles.
Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of subdivision mapping, including final and parcel maps, records of survey, legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, corner records, boundary adjustments, and writing legal descriptions.
- Strong understanding of the fundamentals of engineering and land survey theory and practices.
- Proficiency in using Autodesk Civil 3D software.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and prepare complex surveying documents.
- Skilled in performing moderately complex surveying mathematics and calculations.
- Experience in researching for land surveying deliverables.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical information clearly.
As a Land Surveyor, you will be responsible for:
- Coordinating construction staking projects and preparing construction staking calculations.
- Preparing accurate maps of topographic and boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, and subdivisions.
- Holding or pursuing a California Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license (preferred).
- Possessing a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Land Surveyor in California.
- Demonstrating proficiency in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD, Civil3D, or Carlson.
- Exhibiting excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate findings and collaborate with project teams.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in all aspects of land surveying.
- Strong knowledge of land surveying principles, practices, and regulations in California.
- Proficiency in CAD software, especially AutoCAD, Civil3D, or Carlson.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral, to convey technical information clearly.
Benefits:
We offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary ranging from $120,000-$150,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include performance bonuses, 100% employer-paid health insurance, paid vacation and holidays, an employer-paid profit-sharing retirement account, 401(k) retirement accounts, and formal employee ownership opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering along with a minimum of 10 years of pertinent experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
- Proven track record in conducting Drainage Studies, as well as preparing SWQMP, WQTR, and WQMP documents, and expertise in land development design.
- A solid grasp of hydrology, stormwater management, and associated regulations.
- Professional Engineering Registration in California is required.
- Ability to design, lead and manage site preparation, paving, and site improvements, provision of the access road, curbs, gutters, guardrails, retaining walls, road striping and signage, and other associated work.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities
- Play a pivotal role in the successful execution and delivery of clients’ infrastructure and development projects.
- This position involves overseeing various land planning and development projects, leading project teams, and ensuring the technical accuracy, financial success, and client satisfaction of each project.
- Lead and oversee project teams, providing technical guidance and setting project objectives to ensure technical accuracy and efficient project completion.
- Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring accountability to clients’ needs and expectations.
- Collaborate effectively with other consultants and project design teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Manage project budgets, establish budget costs and schedules, and monitor profitability, taking necessary actions to control costs and handle Contract Change Orders or accounting-related matters.
- Contribute to business development efforts, including the preparation of qualifications and proposals to secure new projects.
- Take a lead role in managing and developing assigned staff, defining their responsibilities and career paths.
- Review designs, reports, written opinions, and other project documents for quality and accuracy before submission to approving agencies or clients.
- Spearheaded the development of design concepts, specifications, timelines, and cost projections.
- Demonstrate leadership skills to assemble and guide teams, oversee project advancement, establish deadlines, troubleshoot emerging challenges, manage finances, ensure stakeholder contentment, and appraise project efficacy, encompassing the performance of team constituents.
- Execute design evaluations in alignment with quality benchmarks and optimal procedures.
