Overview
Stevens Cresto Engineers played a key role in the development of two FedEx facilities—FedEx Ground and FedEx Freight—within the rapidly expanding industrial region of East Otay Mesa. Positioned strategically near the U.S.-Mexico border, both sites leverage their location to enhance cross-border logistics and distribution efficiency.
The FedEx Ground facility is a 130,000-square-foot, $26 million distribution center designed to support regional and international shipping demands. The facility employs more than 150 workers and features a state-of-the-art automated conveyor system, optimizing package handling through both loading and grade-level dock doors. In addition to the main distribution center, the building includes nearly 6,000 square feet of lobby, office, and training spaces, creating a functional and efficient workplace for FedEx personnel.
Stevens Cresto Engineers provided comprehensive planning, engineering, and land surveying services for the project. Their scope included securing discretionary approvals, developing final engineering plans, and overseeing construction surveying to ensure technical precision and timely project completion.
